Beat the winter blues with an easy home refresh

As the daffodils begin to bloom all signs point to Spring just around the corner.  The new season is always the perfect time for a fresh start.

An easy refresh in your home is a great way to bring new life to your space after the dreariness of Winter. Something as simple as moving a chair from one end of the room to the other could go a long way toward achieving that new fresh feeling at little to no cost.

Designer and Realtor Rebecca Hinds from Ainsworth Homes and Ainsworth Real Estate shares her easiest, most affordable tips for sprucing up your home for a refreshed vibe that will last all year long.
Greenery

I always love to add greenery for a good refresh. It always seems to really invigorate your space and give it a new, happy feel for Spring. I love live greenery but there are some great faux greenery items as well these days. Olive trees and snake plants are one of my favorite go-to plants for sprucing up a home and adding an elegant fresh touch.

No Commitment Wallpaper

Peel and stick wallpaper. Easy, affordable and a great DIY! Add a fresh look to your home on an accent wall, at the end of a hallway, in your entry or even somewhere like the laundry room to add a fun pop of color and change things up. The best thing about this is that if you get tired of it, there’s no drywall repair; you simply remove the paper and you’re back to the original look.

Fresh Fabric

Add new throw pillows to your couches. I love a great slipcover and there are many affordable options for those online. This is one of the easiest ways to brighten up your home in the season.

PURA air

PURA air fresheners are a staple at my house and I recommend them to all of my clients. They are automatic air fresheners that you can set on a timer throughout the week so your home always smells amazing.

Rearrange

You are already moving things back in order and organizing areas, so why not move a few pieces around at the same time? I always like to swap up accent chairs, coffee tables or even artwork from room to room. It’s a great no-cost way to freshen up your space.
