Barry Moore: ‘We have a short window here to fix the problems in this country and we cannot delay’

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) says Republicans in Congress will hit the ground running to accomplish as much of President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda as possible — as soon as he gets in office.

Republican will control the House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and the Presidency in January, giving the party a unique opportunity to pass legislation that has recently been blocked the Democrats.

Moore discussed the issue recently on FM Talk 106.5’s “The Jeff Poor Show.”

“I’m fearful that if Kamala Harris had won, the country would have been in dire straits, but we now have a starting line,” Moore said. “Trump is in the White House. We have a mandate. He won the Electoral College. He won the popular vote. We need to make sure that we have, politically speaking, we’ve got 24 months to let the American people know we’re here to drive this agenda home, to make America safe again, make America healthy. And there’s a lot of things that Trump ran on that we have to be able to follow through with and deliver on.”

The congressman believes that Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will be able to push things through because he’ll have Trump’s support.

“I think that Mike Johnson, in some ways, Schumer and the Biden administration kept him on his heels, and he did some things I didn’t agree with,” he said. “But I think having the White House and having President Trump, that relationship, and President Trump can pick up the phone and call these members here and say, ‘Hey, this is a mandate from the American people. This is what we need to do.'”

Moore said he understands there will be pushback on some thing by the media, but the GOP shouldn’t let that stop them from accomplishing their goals.

“I think that, you know, carrying out this mass deportation, man, that’s going to be tough. The American people understand the media, and they’re going to call us all kind of names, these elected officials up here,” he argued. “We got to understand that they are not going to be happy about it. But it does not matter to save this country. There are tough things. There are decisions that have to be made, and we have to make courageous moves to correct the path. And so this mass deportation is going to be one of the first things you see. And we cannot walk away from the fight. We must engage in that.”

“And in a sense, we cannot let the media or the naysayers come at us and let it, let it cause us to step away from the agenda,” he added. “We have a short window here to fix the problems in this country and we cannot delay.”
