U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is cosponsoring a bill that will make sure researchers who participate in studies that help facilitate transgender procedures for minors will not receive and taxpayer funding.
According to The Daily Signal, Moore is one of nine co-sponsors of the “No Taxpayer Funding for Researchers Who Prey on Children Act” being introduced by U.S. Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-Okla).
“Americans should be outraged to learn that nearly $31 million of our taxpayer dollars are funding youth transgender studies that have even led to the suicides of two participants,” Brecheen said. “The researchers conducting these studies are advocates for harming minors and are using our tax dollars to prey on children and advance their far-left agenda.”

The law specifically bans “federal funding for researchers who have conducted a study or experiment relating to gender identity, and for other purposes.”
The bill describes the banned studies as those that include “or describes any minor whose perception of his or her sex or asserted identity is in congruent with such individual’s sex for the purposes of affirming such perception or asserted identity, introduces any minor to any medical or surgical service for the purpose of assisting such individual’s disassociation from his or her sex, and introduces a minor to social interventions for the purpose of assisting such individual’s disassociation from his or her sex.”
According to Brecheen’s office, the National Institute of Health is currently providing more than $30 million in funding this year for these kinds of studies.
Also cosponsoring the bill are U.S Reps. Ralph Norman (R-S.C), Mary Miller (R-(Ill.), David Rouzer (R-N.C.), Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz), Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.), Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.), and Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.).
