U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, thinks there’s more than enough evidence to charge a former CIA director for lying under oath.
U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who chairs the Judiciary Committee, announced on Oct. 21 that they have referred former CIA Director John Brennan to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution.
“John Brennan lied to Congress,” Jordan said on X. “Today, we referred him to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution.”
Jordan believes that Brennan made false statements in his 2023 testimony before Congress about the Trump-Russian collusion investigation.
Moore, who is also a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2026, discussed the issue Wednesday on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program.”
“I was pleased to see that,” Moore said, “because very often, and you get this from American people like, ‘Hey, there’s been enough hearings. When are people going to be prosecuted?’ And you’re seeing that as Tulsi Gabbard declassified, we got our hands on the documents that show that Clapper behind the scenes, and Brennan and those guys, they knew the dossier wasn’t real. They knew it was fake, and yet they testified in Congress under oath that, in fact, the dossier didn’t come into our intel and the Russian collusion there, and none of that was part of that.”
Jordan said in his letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi that the evidence newly declassified confirms Brennan falsely testified on May 11, 2023, when he said “the CIA was not involved at all with the (Steele) dossier.”
The congressman said this is just the beginning of holding these former government officials accountable.
“I think it’s the beginning of us kind of holding this prior administration accountable for true weaponization of government, against conservatives, against people who they didn’t agree with, against President Trump and his campaign,” he argued. “And so yes, I was pleased to see that.”
“And there’ll be more coming as we go through this process,” he added, “as we go through these documents and these burn bags, and figure out exactly what it was that Comey and the FBI, the DNI, all those folks under Clapper and Brennan were doing to conservatives in this country, the weaponization, whether it was the IRS EPA or, in fact, the DOJ coming after conservatives. Those are the kind of things American people expect, and if you ask them, this is what they voted for.”
Moore thinks the evidence against Brennon is overwhelming.
“Yeah, absolutely. We’ve got him on record under oath, lying about the dossier,” he explained. “And in fact, he said, ‘Oh no, that was never part of what we considered as intel when we were looking into Russian collusion.’ And now we know they actually, they modified the assessments under Obama’s direction to pull the Russian collusion, the dossier of Christopher Steele, those things into this fold to go after President Trump with the Crossfire Hurricane investigations. All those things that we know now, they weaponized and they used, and we need to hold them accountable. And we now have them in fact, on record, lying to Congress under oath.”
