Maryland, who has a 7-5 record, is quarterbacked by former Alabama quarterback and the brother of Tua Tagovailoa, Taulia Tagovailoa, who transferred to Maryland in 2020 and is now in his third full season as the Terrapins starting quarterback.

Auburn secured postseason eligibility after earning a sixth win against Arkansas several weeks ago, but ended the season with back to back losses to New Mexico State and Alabama to finish the regular season 6-6.

Maryland has won two of their last three including a close 31-24 loss to Michigan as well as closing the season with a 42-24 win over Rutgers.

“The entire Auburn football program is excited to accept an invitation to the TransPerfect Music City Bowl in Nashville,” Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze said.

“Nashville is a great destination, and the Music City Bowl is a great way to end our first season at Auburn. We have the best fans in college football and can’t wait for the Auburn Family to travel to Nashville and take over Broadway. We are thrilled for our players to have another opportunity to compete against a very good Maryland opponent.”
