ALGOP Chairman on election night from Mar-a-Lago: ‘Cautiously optimistic’ about knowing late-night outcome

Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl expressed high optimism about the GOP’s chances in tonight’s high-stakes election while he joins the election night crowd at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Wahl reported an “electric” atmosphere among attendees and noted growing optimism as voter turnout appeared favorable in key battleground states.

“There’s a lot of excitement. Just about everyone is cautiously optimistic. The numbers coming in on the turnout in swing states across the country seems to benefit us. And I think we could know a final outcome of this election tonight,” Wahl told Yellowhammer News on Tuesday night. “On the national level, we have three main targets. We want to take back the Senate, hold the house, and get Donald Trump back as a resident on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, certainly.”

“Well, I think it’s going to be a late night. They’re telling us they expect to be of at least till 2 a.m. as we’re waiting. But I am very hopeful that we will see an actual final outcome of this question. I think the states to watch Republicans need to win, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina right now, all those states are looking very good to only have this in the lead. We’re very optimistic,” Wahl said.

“Watch the Rust Belt, Donald Trump needs one of the three states in the Rust Belt, that being Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Traditionally, Pennsylvania can take some time to count their votes, but Wisconsin usually gets their votes done on election night, my eyes are going to be on Wisconsin. If Donald Trump wins Wisconsin, I can see with confidence that he will take this role. Will take this race and will be the next president United States of America.”
