ALFA invites potential candidates to campaign training in October

The Alabama Farmers Federation, a statewide political powerhouse, announced this week they will host a bipartisan campaign school for prospective and incumbent candidates interested in running for elected office. The one-day training will take place on October 1 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Alfa Insurance Co. home office in Montgomery.

“This school provides ethics training and the tools necessary to organize a campaign with strong grassroots efforts and effective strategies,” said Federation Director of Organization Matthew Durdin. “It teaches potential candidates the necessary steps to ensure a successful campaign, and it helps veteran officeholders evaluate and assess the strengths and weaknesses of past campaign efforts.”

The program will feature award-winning speakers with extensive experience in the political arena at all levels of government, ALFA says. Attendees will hear from elected officials of both parties along with some of the state’s leading political consultants.

“What this Campaign School taught me when I attended was instrumental in my success as a candidate,” said Alabama State Rep. Susan Dubose, R-Hoover. “I am glad I attended because the strategies and expert testimonies provided gave me insights into a successful campaign.”

Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. Candidates are encouraged to register in advance of the September 24 deadline.
