U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (AL-03) on Thursday tweeted that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

“This morning I tested positive for COVID-19,” the East Alabama congressman wrote. “I immediately consulted with the Office of the Attending Physician and am currently self-isolating.”

“I am experiencing mild symptoms but otherwise I am in good spirits and looking forward to getting back to work soon,” he added.

More details were not immediately available.

Rogers, 62, was recently selected as the next ranking member of the House Committee on Armed Services. He currently serves as the ranking member of the Committee on Homeland Security and has been a congressman since January 2003.
