3 DAYS REMAINING IN THE 2024 ALABAMA LEGISLATIVE SESSION

Alabama’s favorite fictional son is now a very real candidate for the presidency

He may have had an I.Q. of 75, but at least one person thinks Alabama’s most famous fictional son should be the next President of the United States.

There are currently 891 names filed with the Federal Elections Commission as candidates for President.

As we learned from the viral sensation “Deez Nuts,” you don’t have to be technically eligible to run for the nation’s highest office to register. That particular jokester, for example, was revealed to be a 15-year-old from Iowa.

For those of you whose Civics class was many many years ago, you must be at least 35-years-old to become President.

Furthermore, you can even register someone else with the FEC.

Among some of the other notable names on the list are fictional boxer Rocky Balboa, Michael Jordan, Marshawn Lynch (also filed under his nickname on the field “Beast Mode”), Tom Brady Sketch, and Star Wars character Obi Wan Kenobi.

So, what party does Mr. Gump side with, according to the FEC? Like many Alabamians in the 1950s, he’s a registered Democrat.

If you could have anyone as President, fictional or not, who would you pick? Let’s chat about it in the comments on Facebook!
