Ross Taylor & Associates, a government affairs and strategic consulting firm formed last year by two Alabama political juggernauts, John Ross and Charlie Taylor, announced today that Amanda Brown, who most recently served as chief of staff to the Alabama Senate Democratic Caucus, has joined their team.

“We are fortunate that Amanda has chosen to bring her years of experience and impressive ability to work both sides of the aisle to our firm,” founders John Ross and Charlie Taylor said.

“Amanda’s public policy background, her trusting relationships, and the reputation she has built throughout state government will help Ross Taylor & Associates serve our clients’ needs as we seek commonsense solutions to the problems that face Alabama.”

In addition to her eight years working for the Senate Democratic Caucus, initially as staff attorney and later as chief of staff, Brown gained valuable executive branch experience and developed a strong understanding of state priorities and policy initiatives while serving under two Alabama governors from 2016 to 2018.

Throughout each role she has held, Brown placed policy and the public’s interests ahead of partisanship and worked effectively with both Democratic and Republican members of the Alabama House and Senate. Her efforts to foster bipartisan cooperation routinely resulted in the passage of meaningful legislation.

Senate Minority Leader Bobby Singleton (D-Greensboro), for whom she worked, praised Brown’s service as his chief of staff and offered her “my sincere gratitude, my utmost respect, and my full support.”

“Amanda’s career reflects a dedication to building bridges, finding common ground, and serving Alabama’s people through collaboration and a deep understanding of the legislative process,” Singleton said. “I wish her continued success, fulfillment, and every opportunity to thrive in this next chapter.”

Brown earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Alabama and holds a juris doctorate degree from Jones Law School. She lives in Pike Road, Alabama with her husband and their two sons.

She joins the team with Ross, who holds decades of experience in campaign consulting and governmental affairs, including service under U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) and Governor Bob Riley, and Taylor, a former vice chancellor for external affairs for the University of Alabama system, where he led its extensive lobbying efforts on both the state and federal levels.

Both Ross and Taylor are perennial features of Yellowhammer News’ Power & Influence list each edition – and are expected to make gains in the coming quadrennium.
