Do you know a retailer in the Yellowhammer State who has demonstrated commitment to their communities, customers, and employees?
If so, the Alabama Retail Association wants you to consider nominating the business for the organization’s 2025 Alabama Retailer of the Year award.
Rick Brown, president of the Alabama Retail Association, explained that nominees should have a record of sound business practices and innovation.
“Alabama is home to thriving, inventive, and community-driven shops and restaurants,” Brown said. “We are excited to showcase their success and contributions. No matter where you reside in the state or the size of your community, you likely know a local retailer who is making an impact. We hope you will nominate them for this recognition.”
Nominees must own, operate, or manage a retail business with a physical presence in Alabama. To be considered a retail operation, the business must collect state and local sales taxes. Retailers can sell a wide range of products, including food, clothing, gifts, hardware, outdoor equipment, furniture, pharmaceuticals, jewelry, apparel, shoes, and more.
The organization is accepting nominations for the award until May 16. After the nomination period ends, nominees will receive an entry form. Judges will select winners based on the completed entry forms. Award categories include Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Emerging Retailer.
Gold winners can only be recognized once within a sales category. All other previous winners can be nominated in subsequent years.
