The Alabama Crimson Tide has officially landed the signature of the No. 2 overall player in the country from the high school ranks in Duncanville, TX quarterback Keelon Russell.
The Tide flipped Russell from his hometown SMU Mustangs over the summer, and since then Russell has done nothing but blast up the recruiting boards. Already an elite prospect, Russell has climbed up to be the consensus No. 2 player in the country behind just Michigan’s Bryce Underwood.
Russell won the Elite 11 quarterback competition among all the top quarterbacks in the class shortly after committing to Alabama and earned consensus five-star status shortly after.

He has led an elite Duncanville program to two consecutive 6A state championships in Texas and will try to cap off his high school career with a third straight championship.
How quickly he can start for the Crimson Tide remains a question, but most believe he has a chance to at least make a legitimate push for the job as a true freshman next season.
It’s safe to say that Kalen DeBoer has found his quarterback of the future in Tuscaloosa.
