Expert physicians with the Alabama Medical Association, during the organization’s weekly Facebook Live webcast, will answer questions regarding COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
Medical Association president Dr. Aruna Arora echoed physicians’ concerns over the dual threat posed by a combination of the pandemic with the emergence of flu season.
“As we enter another flu season, doctors across the country are very concerned about a possible ‘twindemic’ – a combination of COVID-19 cases and a surge of patients who need to be treated for the flu at the same time,” said Arora.
She added, “That is why it is critically important for everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated against both the flu and COVID. The vaccines can be administered at the same time, and both will make it less likely you get seriously ill, hospitalized or die from COVID or the flu.”
Is it safe to get the COVID vaccine and flu shot at the same time?
If you've already gotten the COVID vaccine, do you really need to get the flu vaccine?
