Alabama man allegedly murdered for crossing street too slowly in Bullock County

Johnarian Travez Allen, 29, was shot eight times and killed in recent days in Union Springs, the county seat of Bullock County.

The motive for such a brutal killing?

According to WSFA, the alleged killer says Allen, then a pedestrian, was crossing the street at too slow a pace.

Jeremiah Wesley Penn, 22, soon turned himself in and confessed to being the shooter, per Union Springs Police Chief Danny Jackson.

The television outlet reported that Penn now faces a capital murder charge. If found guilty of that charge, he would be sentenced to either life in prison without the possibility of parole or death.
