Alabama legend Amari Cooper traded from Cleveland to Buffalo

Alabama Crimson Tide legendary wide receiver Amari Cooper has been traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a third round draft pick.

Cooper had been with the Browns since prior to the 2022 season when he was traded there from the Dallas Cowboys and proceeded to put up back-to-back huge seasons with the team. But with Cleveland struggling this year on offense and likely having to enter a rebuilding phase, they decided to send one of their best offensive assets away in exchange for valuable draft capital.

The biggest winner is probably Cooper himself, who goes from a 1-5 Browns team with a disastrous quarterback situation to the 4-2 Buffalo Bills, considered to be Super Bowl contenders led by one of the best quarterbacks in the entire league in Josh Allen.

Cooper is in year 10 in the NFL after the Raiders selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Though he is now on his fourth team, he has always consistently been one of the best receivers in the league with seven seasons of 1,000 yards or more.

Tide fans will remember Cooper as one of the best to ever do it at Alabama and arguably the best receiver of the Nick Saban era. In three seasons in Tuscaloosa, Cooper had nearly 3,500 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns, both program records that likely would have stood for a long time were it not for DeVonta Smith coming back for his senior year, something Cooper did not do.

As you turn on your TV on Sundays, be sure to look out for Cooper wearing a brand new jersey and making big plays for a playoff squad.
