Alabama lawmakers in wake of Iran attack: ‘The United States must continue to stand with Israel’

Members of Alabama’s Congressional delegation are showing their support for the state of Israel in the wake of Iran’s missile attack against the Jewish nation.

Iran launched close to 200 missiles against Israel Tuesday, in what is being called a “significant escalation” by the regime in Tehran.

“U.S. naval destroyers joined Israeli Air Defense units in firing interceptors to shoot down inbound missiles,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. “President Biden and Vice President Harris monitored the attack and the response from the White House Situation Room, joined in person and remotely by their national security team.”

The missile barrage comes after Israel conducted military strikes made against Iranian terrorist proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon, including one that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Alabama’s U.S. Sens. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) responded to the attacks, showing support and solidarity for the U.S. ally.

Tuberville also blamed the attack in part on the weakness of the Biden-Harris administration.

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks), who chair the House Armed Services Committee, said “Israel reserves every right to defend their nation against Iran and its terrorist proxies.”

U.S. Reps. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia), Jerry Carl (R-Mobile), Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville), and Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) also showed their support for Israel.
