I’ve realized over the past week or two that folks around the state, as well as Alabama media outlets, are looking for some indication of what to expect in the Alabama GOP Presidential primary.
Some insiders in the business community are discussing some fresh polling data and more than one source has confirmed to me that the numbers below are accurate. The following results are from a 500 sample public opinion survey of likely voters that was done on February 20 and 21:
Rick Santorum: 41%
Mitt Romney: 25%
Newt Gingrich: 20%
The only thing to keep in mind with these numbers is that they represent where things stood before the Michigan and Arizona results from last night. Romney’s wins may change things a bit. But this is certainly more accurate than anything else floating around right now.
