Alabama GOP congressional delegation receives A+ rating from national pro-life scorecard

Every Republican member of Alabama’s congressional delegation has received an A+ rating from the Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List’s National Pro-Life Scorecard.

Established in 1992, the SBA list issues ratings to members of Congress based on their voting records concerning abortion-related legislation. The list’s stated mission is to “end abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives.”

U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala) stated that as a federally-elected official, it was his responsibility to ensure the rights of the unborn are protected.

“Throughout my time in Congress, I have and will continue to support pro-life values and ideals,” advised Shelby. “I believe that it is our moral and ethical duty to protect the dignity of human life, particularly when it comes to the unborn.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala) took to social media to outline what he asserted to be the importance of the pro-life movement.

U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) pledged his continued support of pro-life causes.

“I am honored to get such a high score. I’ve said this before and will continue to say it, I am unapologetically pro-life,” declared Aderholt. “I will continue to fight for the most vulnerable among us. When it comes to abortion, no argument in favor of abortion can ever overcome one steadfast reality, abortion stops an innocent human heartbeat.”

Heaping praise upon the SBA List for its advocacy was U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), who expressed gratitude to the organization for working to halt taxpayer-funded abortions.

“I am proud to receive Susan B. Anthony List’s A+ rating for my pro-life actions. Susan B. Anthony List is among America’s premier pro-life groups,” proclaimed Brooks. “I thank them for helping America better understand how Members of Congress impact unborn children and pro-life taxpayers who don’t want their hard-earned tax dollars killing unborn children.”

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) vowed to continue his efforts in supporting the right-to-life.

“I am deeply honored to receive an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony list as one of the nation’s strongest pro-life advocates. As a Christian and a father of three, there is nothing more precious and beautiful than the life of a child,” stated Rogers. “Our nation must act to protect the lives of all children including the most vulnerable, the unborn. I will never waver from doing everything in my power to continue to defend the lives of unborn children.”

U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) highlighted his work as a freshman congressman to put forward legislation solidifying protections for the unborn.

“I’m proud to have earned an A+ rating on the Susan B. Anthony National Pro-Life Scorecard. I’m a firm believer that every life is a precious gift from God, and every human is made in God’s image,” stated Carl. “During my first year in Congress, I’ve already cosponsored dozens of pro-life bills, and I will continue doing everything I can to protect life at all stages.”

For U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), reversing course on the nation’s current abortion practices is a top priority.

“It is humbling to be recognized by one of the leading pro-life organizations in the nation for my voting record protecting the unborn. I love our great country, but it is heartbreaking that we will forever be stained by the blood of the millions of innocent children we’ve aborted,” asserted Moore. “Until we terminate this barbaric practice, our nation can never truly be in God’s favor. I will do all I can in Washington to fight the radical pro-abortion agenda and protect the lives of God’s unborn children. There can be no higher calling!”

U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham), Alabama’s lone congressional democrat, received an F rating from the national pro-life scorecard.
