The Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs are set to meet on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa for the game of the year at Bryant-Denny Stadium, but it’s looking like some nasty weather is also coming to T-Town.
As it stands, a potential hurricane threat is heading towards the Alabama coast, expecting to cause some severe weather Friday into Saturday. The looming weather had the internet discussing plans for the game being changed or the matchup being moved to a different day, but UA Athletics cleared up the speculation on Tuesday evening.

“Alabama Athletics is closely monitoring the weather forecast ahead of Saturday’s football game vs. Georgia,” the statement reads. “At this time, there are no plans to alter the contest. We will continue to observe conditions throughout the week and remain in communication with the Southeastern Conference office, as needed.
“Fans are encouraged to rely on official Alabama Athletics and SEC channels for the latest information regarding Saturday’s game.”
If any changes in game time or location were going to be made, Alabama would likely have to have a decision made by Wednesday afternoon, but officials at UA seem confident that this will not be the case.
Regardless, this is a serious situation with rapidly changing information, so staying up to date is critical. As for the game, the plan as of Wednesday morning is still to play it normally.
