Alabama Forestry Association names Anna Morgan Skipper as Director of External Affairs

The Alabama Forestry Association has promoted one of its own to become the organization’s next Director of External Affairs.

On Friday, the industry and political powerhouse announced that Anna Morgan Skipper, Grassroots Coordinator with AFA since 2021, has been chosen to lead external affairs.

In her new role, Skipper will continue to work with AFA General Counsel, Tom Saunders, managing the legislative and political affairs programs of the Alabama Forestry Association.

“Anna Morgan has been instrumental in helping to create one of the most effective grassroots and advocacy campaigns in Alabama,” Saunders said. “Her intuition and ability to not only understand the issues but also effectively communicate AFA’s positions has led to her immediate success in the arena of public policy.”

Chris Isaacson, AFA President & CEO, also complimented Skipper, praising her professional traits.

“Anna Morgan has made a tremendous contribution to the association during her tenure here at AFA,” said Isaacson. “Her unique blend of charm, intelligence, and determination combined with an unrivaled work ethic has made her an incredibly effective advocate for Alabama’s forestry community.”

Skipper grew up in Clarke County, where the forest industry plays a major role in the local economy, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. She currently resides in Montgomery and is married to Edward Skipper, who is a forester with Harrigan Lumber Company in Monroeville.
