Alabama Farmers Federation announces eighth round of legislative endorsements

The Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA) on Thursday announced its eighth round of endorsements for candidates seeking election to the state legislature.

The state’s largest agricultural advocacy organization utilizes its political action committee, FarmPAC, in making its endorsements of candidates seeking public office.

The following incumbents now hold an official endorsement from FarmPAC:

  • State Sen. Chris Elliott (R-Daphne)
  • State Sen. Gerald Allen (R-Tuscaloosa)
  • State Sen. David Sessions (R-Grand Bay)
  • State Rep. Kyle South (R-Fayette)
  • State Rep. Andy Whitt (R-Harvest)
  • State Rep. Lynn Greer (R-Rogersville)
  • State Rep. Scott Stadthagen (R-Hartselle)
  • State Rep. Corey Harbison (R-Good Hope)

Additionally, ALFA announced its endorsement of Tuscumbia Mayor Kerry “Bubba” Underwood, who is seeking the Republican nomination for House District 3. The seat is becoming vacant as current officeholder State Rep. Andrew Sorrell (R-Muscle Shoals) is forgoing reelection to the legislature to seek the office of state auditor.

The federation in October rolled out its first and second rounds of legislative endorsements. ALFA’s third, fourth and fifth rounds of endorsements were announced in November. This month, ALFA released its sixth and seventh strings of endorsements.

Earlier this year, the federation announced its endorsements of candidates seeking federal and statewide offices.
