Ainsworth pledges pushback against Biden ‘un-American’ policies — ‘People are sick of what he’s doing to America’

President Joe Biden’s popularity is suffering nationwide but that trend is especially true in Alabama, as well.

That sentiment was reflected earlier this month in elections in Virginia and New Jersey, and Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth vows to continue the pushback here in Alabama.

During an appearance on Mobile radio’s FM Talk 106.5, Ainsworth criticized the Biden administration’s policies as “un-American.”

“[Y]ou look at all the money that they’re giving and how they’ve basically incentivized people not to work,” he said. “It’s just un-American and I think that’s why the whole cheer, ‘Let’s go, Brandon,’ has taken [off]. Can you believe that’s actually going on? People are sick of what he’s doing to America. When you look at what happened in Virginia, right? When you look at just the pushback in New Jersey, when you look at the fact that they’re underwater across America right now in districts — because I believe this: America is still a center-right country and he’s gone too far. He’s let the left, the far left dictate what he’s going to do and Alabamians are certainly not going to put up with it. And I’m glad to see Americans aren’t, either.”

The lieutenant governor predicted the success for Republicans in next year’s midterm elections, adding that Biden was working against the “American dream.”

“[I] think Republicans will take back the House,” Ainsworth added. “I think we’ll take back the Senate. I think districts that were not in play literally a month ago are now in play because of what President Biden is doing to America. At the end of the day, what makes America great is the American dream. Go out and work, and you can provide for yourself. And when a president is trying every day to destroy that through raising taxes, through encouraging people to stay at home, and business owners are just begging for people to come to work. I mean, that’s crazy. And so, I think people aren’t going to put up with that. They’re going to get just like what happened in Virginia and New Jersey — that’s going to happen all across America. Then it is going to be up to Republicans to advocate for smaller government, limited government — get government out of the way so people can be successful. That’s certainly what we’re going to do in Alabama.”

According to Ainsworth, Republicans would continue to challenge the Biden administration’s “crazy stuff.”

“But I’ll tell you this: We’re going to fight back on all of this stuff,” he added. “I mean, he’s going to continue to do crazy stuff. We’re going to continue to push back. And that’s what we were elected to do.”
