Aderholt: Diesel shortage due to Biden’s failed energy policy

Diesel fuel shortages impacting the southeastern United States stems from the Biden administration’s failure to bolster domestic energy production, according to U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville).

Last Friday, a major fuel logistics company issued a warning detailing that the fuel shortage was due in part to a historically low supply of diesel reserves.

“Poor pipeline shipping economics and historically low diesel inventories are combining to cause shortages in various markets throughout the Southeast,” said Mansfield Energy Corp., according to Fox Business.

Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia are expected to be impacted by the diesel supply shortage, the outlet reported.

In a Monday statement, Aderholt placed blame over the issue at the feet of the Biden administration due to its “failure to focus on American energy.”

“My staff and I are closely monitoring the current issues with the diesel fuel supply in the Southeast. It’s no secret we are in this situation because of President Biden’s failure to focus on American energy,” said Aderholt. “European nations, because of overzealous green energy policies, are already feeling the pain of these type problems and now the Biden Administration is following suit here in the U.S., with the same results.”

The North Alabama congressman said he was prepared ” to do what I can to help ease the impact of any diesel shortages in Alabama.”

“I also recently sent a letter to President Biden, with many of my Republican colleagues, urging him to put together a five-year energy plan to ensure that these types of shortages and price hikes never happen again.”
