7 Things: Whistleblowers claim Biden coverup; Space Command looms large in defense funding; and more …

7. If the drama surrounding Alabama basketball star Brandon Miller affected his draft stock, it did not affect it much because he was drafted 2nd overall. Charlotte Hornets fans booed the pick.

6. The I-65 rest stop rocket is apparently doomed after a vote by the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission to take down the rocket. While many wanted the original rocket saved, it appears replacing it will be the most likely path.

5. The OceanGate submarine drama that has gripped the world’s media over the last few days has come to an end with an explanation that the sub imploded Sunday and the Navy has known since then that the crew of 5 was lost. The search continued as a rescue mission because the Navy said the info was not “definitive.”

4. While some on the right seem to be worrying about fighting wokeness too much, in a foolish attempt to counter their competitors, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and 14 other AGs, penned a letter to Target to remind them that they have an obligation to ignore consumers and keep unpopular items in their stores. Alabama AG Steve Marshall is going in another direction, telling companies to stop discriminating against conservatives in their business practices.

3. U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) has responded to clear evidence that military leaders are using politics and social issues to choose the location of Space Command HQ by offering a bill to forbid those factors.

2. The defense bill has an Alabama focus thanks to U.S. Reps. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) and Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) who secured defense funding that “counter China’s aggression, boost oversight of the Department of Defense, and support our servicemembers and their families.” The Space Command HQ move gets some attention, as well, with a provision that should speed up the naming of the permanent location and Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) putting the brakes on spending in Colorado before that decision is made.

1. More whistleblowers highlight how ridiculous Hunter Biden’s plea deal is, the IRS whistleblowers suggested charging the crackhead son of the president of the United States with attempted tax evasion and other felonies, which would carry stiffer penalties and cover all the years between 2014 to 2019. Whistleblower Gary Shapely says some at the DOJ were on board with these charges but they were now alleging, “with evidence, that DOJ provided preferential treatment, slow-walked the investigation, did nothing to avoid obvious conflicts of interest in this investigation.”
