7. A Priceville police officer and son of reality TV star Duane “Dog” Chapman, Garry Chapman, was placed on leave after a crash that killed 17-year-old Brandon Hamby and injured another teen;  the investigation continues into a chase that started as a traffic/DUI stop and led to a high-speed chase.

6. Alabama saw a significant 30% drop in overdose deaths in 2024 compared to 2025, attributed to expanded access to treatment/rehabilitation, NARCAN’s availability, and stronger law enforcement efforts.

5. The Alabama Tourism Department allocated over $15,000 to LGBTQ events in 2024 and 2025; taxpayer dollars were used to host events where there were drag brunches, Pride parades, and “appearances from RuPaul’s Drag Race stars.”

4. Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl is reportedly giving himself until the end of September to decide on a U.S. Senate run but is “leaning against” doing so, BUT rumblings exist that he might be considering a run for U.S. House in 2028 if U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) calls it quits, with speculation about a Space Command leadership post.

Extremely wealthy pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s “birthday book,” released to House investigators, contains notes from President Donald Trump AND former President Bill Clinton (only one of these has spun off a million headlines and cable news hits), poolside photos, and bizarre animal pictures, and most fueling speculation about his elite connections and accusations of pedophilia toward one person (guess who).

2. Alabama Governor-elect National Championship-winning Coach U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) revealed he carries a golf club for protection while walking in Washington, D.C., and criticized the city’s leaders for their failures, “for some reason, the people that are leadership in Washington, D.C., don’t take pride in our city. I don’t know whether they’re funneling the money off or doing something else with it. Law enforcement they try, but they’re not backed up by the justice system.”

1. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt criticized Birmingham pretty hard by calling out Birmingham’s poor leadership, the 2017 sanctuary city attempt, which was basically a cowardly attempt to become a sanctuary city without the consequences (except to their citizens), and further blaming Democrat policies for Blue cities’ high crime rates in Red states, while local leaders defended their efforts to address violence.
