7. Alabama State Rep. Cindy Myrex (R-Cullman) called for naming the new $3.2 billion Mobile River crossing the “Dolly Parton Memorial Bridge,” saying “Dolly Parton represents so much of what people love about the South” and that her Imagination Library has delivered more than 5.4 million books in Alabama.
6. A judge signed an order prohibiting the NCAA, the SEC and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey from blocking a group of athletes, including three currently on NFL rosters, from returning to college sports, writing, “as long as they would have been eligible to continue playing college sports in the following semester if they had a fifth year of eligibility, they are eligible today.”
5. President Donald Trump signed an order renaming American portions of Lake Ontario as “Lake America,” but Republicans in his Oswego County stronghold said “there are more important things to do,” while Al Michaels stumbled through an on-air jab saying “We’re not quite sure at this point.”
4. A YouGov poll found 46% of Americans now oppose Flock license-plate cameras in their communities, up from 33% last year, with more than 4 in 10 saying they believe the cameras are used for stalking, while about three-quarters of Democrats and roughly 6 in 10 Republicans and independents said police should need a warrant to access the data.

Alabama Republicans are pushing straight-ticket voting after two-thirds of 2022 midterm ballots used that option, with Baldwin County GOP Chair Kathy Morelock saying, “We are definitely pushing a vote straight Republican ticket” as Democrats eye turnout gains and Doug Jones, the cowardly caretaker former junior senator in an ill-fitting suit, who looks like he just woke up and stole his shoes from a homeless person and who will never be governor, attorney general, or U.S. Senator again, urged voters not to “just check a box.”

Montgomery is a “warzone” and “We’ve got judges, we’ve got district attorneys that are not doing their jobs” and “I can’t get anybody to move to Montgomery,” according to Governor-elect National Championship-winning Coach U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), while Doug Jones, the cowardly caretaker former junior senator in an ill-fitting suit, who looks like he just woke up and stole his shoes from a homeless person and who will never be governor, attorney general, or U.S. Senator again, claimed Tuberville “ignores the facts” and accuses Tuberville of wanting to use “National Guard as a prop” even though the National Guard has been very effective in dealing with crime.
1. Governor-elect National Championship-winning Coach U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) blamed illegal immigration for rising prices at an Athens-Limestone Chamber luncheon, rightly pointing out that “we got 40 million people here that need to go home” because “it is costing us, you and me, a fortune to have them here” while adding “we want to take care of us, and our kids and our grandkids, and the people of this country first.”
