7 Things: Tuberville blinks; GOP to debate in Tuscaloosa as Bidenomics crushes Biden in swing state polls; and more …

7. The media is pretending that they do not understand jokes and that former President Donald Trump is about to become a dictator. Trump joked to Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he would not become a dictator, “except on day one,” when he will close the border and start drilling.

6. Republicans in the U.S. Senate are willing to offer military assistance to Ukraine in exchange for funding for Israel and border enforcement, but according to U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Democrats don’t want border enforcement. Romney rebuffed the Democrat plan on X, tweeting, “Dems want $106B—GOP wants a closed border. That’s the trade. But clueless Dems want to negotiate the border bill. Not going to happen. Is an open border more important to Dems than Ukraine and Israel?”

5. Leaders at America’s finest colleges have decided that they could not definitively state that calling for genocide is seen “harassment” on college campuses. X’s Elon Musk, speaks for all sane people when he states, “Calling for the genocide [death] of anyone obviously constitutes harassment.”

4. The importance of swing state Senate races, and the failure of the GOP to win those in  2020, has handed Vice President Kamala Harris a new record on tie-breaking votes. People who downplay electability arguments might want to think about how important the passage of the American Rescue Plan, Inflation Reduction Act, and those 30 federal judges will be down the line.

3. Bidenomics is a real-world and polling disaster, with a majority of voters declaring they are worse off than last year, while the media attempts to tell them otherwise. Pension plans are down 12.1% and 401k are down 24.8% in the latest terrible economic news for Americans.

2. President Joe Biden is worried about his chances at a second term as yet another poll shows him trailing former President Donald Trump in every single swing state, so the campaign put up billboards in Tuscaloosa ahead of today’s GOP presidential debate. The message is typical “Republicans will take X from you” messaging with text that reads, “No to healthcare repeal. No to slashing Medicare and Medicaid, No to extreme abortion bans” and have photos of Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

1. U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) blinked and has released some most a vast majority of his holds on military promotions and appointments over the Biden administration’s illegal abortion policy, only a hold on 4-stars remains. In response, Tuberville sounded defeated, “[i]t was pretty much a draw. They didn’t get what they wanted, we didn’t get what we wanted. When they change the rules, it’s hard to win…It’s unfortunate the American people didn’t get a voice.”
