7. Lawmakers in Georgia (the backward country, not the backward U.S. state) smack down over a law that actually sounds like a pretty decent idea, requiring foreign-owned media outlets to register their status. The bill proposes that media and non-commercial organizations must register as being under foreign influence if they receive over 20% of their budget from abroad, but the current president is prepared to veto the bill.
6. Anti-Semites shut down roads around the United States because not enough Jews died over the weekend. New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Miami saw protests of various success levels seeking to draw attention to the conflict in Israel, which we all just found out about because of these protests.
5. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) has revealed that the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on separate bills related to foreign issues, this includes individual aid bills for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, possibly followed by a bill on TikTok‘s ownership. This all sets up a couple of battles for Republicans in House and then the bills that pass there will be the question of whether the U.S. Senate will address them this way.
4. Today’s runoff in Alabama is the first step to finding a new congressperson in Alabama’s court-ordered, racially gerrymandered Second Congressional District, drawn to get a black Democratic member of Congress and a red-to-blue flip. The GOP primary runoff between Caroleene Dobson (leading and landing a Gov. Kay Ivey appearance) and former State Sen. Dick Brewbaker (R-Montgomery), according to recent polls, will be far closer than the Democratic primary with Shomari Figures leading leading State Rep. Anthony Daniels (D-Huntsville) handedly.
3. U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Auburn) is accurately describing the focus on former President Donald Trump’s legal issues, and the issues themselves, as part of the ongoing “melt down” from the media and their Democrats and tantamount to “election interference.” While Britt is accurately slamming the media, jealous “Mean Girl” wannabe and the Alabama Democratic Party’s No. 2, Tabitha Isner, declared that this opinion by Britt means that Britt is “more committed to Trump than to democracy or justice,” which is a take on the level of the position Isner holds and one echoed by Alabama’s smartest Democrats.
2. Alabama lawmakers want President Joe Biden to come out more forcefully in favor of Israel while it is under failed attack from Iran and Iran-backed terrorists everyday with U.S. Reps. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) and Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) urging President Biden to adopt a stronger stance in support of Israel following these attacks. Meanwhile, the White House is clearly leaking conversations with the Israeli leader in order to weaken their position and cajole them into a cease fire.
1. Former President Donald Trump has now become the first ever former president to face a criminal trial as his “hush money” trial has now started in an completely expected way, with about 50% of the potential jurors saying they couldn’t be fair. Trump is not happy, about the trial or various other issues facing him right now, “In Additional to being prohibited from attending my son Barron’s High School Graduation, I have just learned that the highly biased Judge in the Soros ‘appointed’ D.A. Alvin Bragg’s Witch Hunt Case, will not allow me to attend the historic PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY argument in front of The United States.”
