7 Things: Trump lawfare cases could finally start after delays fail; Biden could hilariously be off the ballot in Alabama; and more …

7. A big win for Democrats in Arizona, as the Arizona Supreme Court upholds a ban on abortions in the state citing a law 1864 and multiple codifications, aligning with the precedent set by the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on a similar law in Mississippi. More talk about how “abortion is on the ballot” guaranteed.

6. Alabama libraries continue to be in the crosshairs, smut continues to be exposed … by children while adults don’t let the words be read in public but they do want them in libraries. A sexually explicit book is removed from the Prattville Library in Alabama after a child on a field trip was severely disturbed by “My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness” and a kid read about graphic sex to the Fairhope City Council. These displays happen daily as people insist on defending the indefensible.

5. Huntsville TV station WAAY 31 has told the story of a Section, Ala., boy banned from going to the prom because he was wearing a dress. Apparently, an unrelated parent got involved, gave an interview about how the kid would commit suicide if not allowed to go to prom while the school system remains quiet on the matter, so the facts of the case seem rather scarce.

4. aldotcom continues to act as if LibsofTikTok is a bigger threat to you than illegal immigrants. It’s because an illegal immigrant, arrested for the alleged murder of another illegal, was released when it was determined it was self-defense, meaning the other illegal was attacking him. A quick timeline check indicates LibsofTikTok posted a mugshot before the suspect was released. He was only found because a cop saw him in an emergency room on an unrelated issue.

3. State Sen. Chris Elliott (R-Baldwin County) all but confirmed that the negotiations on gambling are essentially over, the bills are still dead and there will be no gambling change this legislative session. Elliott wants this to pass but said, “I don’t see it passing, which is why I was a little frustrated. There was a non-concurrence vote in the House on what the Senate changed in the House legislation because would have allowed people to vote on the lottery and put tight controls on the illegal gaming that was going on out there, which were two of the House’s goals, and that was contained in the Senate bill. It wasn’t everything, but it certainly was something. And I’m afraid we’re going to end up with nothing.”

2. President Biden could find himself missing from a lot of ballots, Alabama included, because the Democrat National Committee is holding their nominating convention after some of the states ballot access deadlines will have passed. Some will argue the Alabama Legislature altered deadlines to facilitate GOP candidates’ inclusion on the ballot in 2020, sparking concerns about fairness and political maneuvering but I would not expect them to do the same here especially given how Democrats have acted about ballot access.

1. Former President Donald Trump loses again. This time it was his effort to delay the “hush money” trial in New York over a pending gag order appeal and that means the game is about to start for real in the litany of criminal cases Democrats across the country have pursued to dirty-up the Republican candidate. He also failed on a second appeal, to move the trial, as his lawyers argued 61% of people in Manhattan think he is guilty already with 70% having a negative view of him so there is no way he can get a fair trial.
