7. Woke books were sent to a dump where they belong. The books were from the National Association for the Education of Young Children and included references to the divisive concept lawmakers have worked to remove from school curriculum and training.
6. Georgia lawmakers have passed a law allowing high school athletes to make money in the same way college athletes can with the NCAA’s “Name, Image, Likeness” program. Will Alabama follow suit?
5. State Rep. Chris Pringle (R-Mobile) places the blame for Alabama’s redistricting issues on former President Barack Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder. Pringle believes that Holder, whose DOJ approved the previous maps, is now getting paid by George Soros to challenge those. The ruling is coming soon, but the fight is not over.
4. Former President Donald Trump has now been hit with a gag order, this one against criticizing members of the staff of the judge overseeing his trial over real estate evaluations. Trump alleged that the clerk of Judge Arthur F. Engoron was the “girlfriend” of U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and running the case against him; Trump then posted her full name.
3. The crackhead son of the President of the United States has pled “not guilty” to gun charges that he attempted to plead guilty to before a federal judge threw out his sweetheart deal. Hunter Biden’s charges are related to lying on a federal form for a handgun purchase and for being an illegal drug user in possession of the said issue but it ignores his many other illegal issues including the more serious charges of being an unregistered foreign agent.
2. Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has lost his job as interim Speaker Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) slammed the gavel down after his removal to seal the deal. The revolt in the House was led by U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) but no Republican in the Alabama delegation got on board. Gaetz was able to secure the vote of Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) who called this a “GOP Civil War.”
1. The insanity of making former President Donald Trump Speaker of the House sounds so absurd that Republicans in the House just might do it and maybe the country deserves the chaos that will bring. But it will probably be U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), who wants the gig.
