7. Montgomery County Schools joins Baldwin County in wanting to keep kids from transferring out of failing schools — The AEA wants to help
— Board members passed the resolution by a 5-1 margin, asking lawmakers to repeal the Alabama Accountability Act, which the Alabama Education Association says has cost the district $5.8 million since 2013 out of a budget of over $200 million a year.
— Some sanity was expressed by the vice president of the school board, Lesa Keith, who said, “When you have a government giving you a chance to come out of poverty to be a part of the learning system, would you not buy into that? And why would a board of education try and stop that?”
6. ICE responds to Democrats and the media claiming Latinos fear the immigration enforcement agency will be at polling places for some reason
— Former Obama administration official Julian Castro was the latest to take to MSNBC to say that legal citizens of Hispanic descent may not vote because they are afraid of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents may be at the polls, even though this has never happened.
— ICE responded on Twitter saying, “ICE does not patrol or conduct enforcement operations at polling locations. Any flyers or advertisements claiming otherwise are false.”
5. Even some red state Democrats think that their party has gone a bit crazy — Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) is worried
— McCaskill is running a campaign ad where she is attacking the lunatics on the left by featuring a conversation that ends with two men talking about how the senator is “not afraid to stand up against her own party.” It also declares, “Claire’s not one of those crazy Democrats. She works right in the middle and finds compromise.”
— This ad is on the heels of a Project Veritas video that exposed staffers saying that the senator was in line with Barack Obama on almost everything, as well as polls that show her trailing her Republican opponent.
4. Wife of Chief Justice candidate Bob Vance is spending her days on MSNBC blaming the president for potential terror attacks
— After bombs were discovered appearing to target prominent Democrats, Vance appeared on MSNBC and stated, “Trump must explicitly reject violence as a solution to our political differences. His rhetoric has contributed to a dangerous belief among some that violence is acceptable and he must set the standard for clearly stating it is not.”
— Vance is an Alabama resident, frequent MSNBC contributor and was a United States Attorney appointed by President Barack Obama. She goes on MSNBC regularly to criticize the president.
3. Congressman Mo Brooks: “Illegal aliens are a plague on America“
— Congressman Brooks released a statement about two border bills, including Rep. Bradley Byrne’s (AL-Mobile) “50 Votes for the Wall Act,” where he said, “A country that cannot defend its borders is no country at all.”
— Brooks noted, “[I]llegal aliens are a plague on America. Illegal aliens take American jobs and suppress American wages.” He added, “[I]llegal aliens live off welfare and taxes paid by American families and commit crimes that hurt or kill Americans. Far too often, illegal aliens vote in American elections, each time canceling the lawful vote of an American citizen. Each illegal alien vote is a direct threat to our Republic’s democratic process.”
2. Former presidents, congressmen, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and CNN receive explosive devices
— A series of explosive devices were sent to multiple locations, the attempted bombings have not been declared a terrorist attack yet, but that hasn’t stopped rampant speculation that it probably is.
— The first device was found in liberal billionaire George Soros’ mailbox and all the other attempted targets were prominent Democrats, leading to speculation that a conservative is behind it.
1. Without evidence, President Donald Trump will be declared the villain in the attempted bombing spree, even though he did nothing wrong, no matter what he says
— President Trump unequivocally condemned the attacks as his critics declared what he was saying was not enough. He stated, “In these times, we have to unify. We have to come together. Acts and threats of political violence have no place in the United States of America.” This morning he blamed the media.
— Former federal prosecutors, the president of CNN, and one of Jimmy Kimmel’s writers all blamed Trump for this attempted attack, again, without evidence.
