7 Things: Texas tries immigration law that Alabama passed a decade ago; Tuberville calls out military readiness; and more …

7. The Alabama Public Library Service is now allowing parents, also known as taxpayers, to question the content and quality of books available at their local library. This, of course, terrifies the people who insist on providing inappropriate material to children but the momentum against those individuals seems to be growing.

6. In a story with a vibe similar to the Stephen Perkins case out of Decatur, which is near a resolution, a tow truck driver was shot and killed by a man as he tried to repossess his vehicle in Madison County. There is no reason to confront a tow truck driver with a handgun over a towed vehicle, the killer now sits in the Madison County jail on murder charges.

5. They set a date… for Hunter Biden’s court date to face the music for some of his many, many, many crimes. The crackhead son of the president of the United States will make his debut appearance in a California federal court on nine tax charges on Jan. 11, the year his dad will seek reelection.

4. After weeks of attacks on American assets, including merchant ships, American destroyers, and military bases, the Biden administration has decided to form a task force to show strength but the unwillingness to strike back at the attackers remains a weakness. The administration rolled out, “Operation Prosperity Guardian, an important new multinational security initiative under the umbrella of the Combined Maritime Forces and the leadership of its Task Force 153, which focuses on security in the Red Sea” but it doesn’t seem poised to do much.

3. A nationwide bomb-threat hoax was launched over the weekend and 6 of the 7 Jewish congregations in Central Alabama received an e-mail threat, according to the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama. The Secure Community Network, a Jewish security network, says there were 199 threats, with almost 100 in California, 62 in Arizona, and 17 states and Washington, D.C., were threatened as well.

2. U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) responded to reports that the U.S. military is smaller than it has been since pre-World War II by writing on X, “Under @JoeBiden, our military recruitment is the worst it has been since before WWII. This is a disaster for our country.

1. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has decided to follow in the steps of a struck-down Alabama HB-56 law and authorize the arrest of people who have entered the country illegally. The federal government has already said they won’t do their job, but they will try to stop Texas from trying this while Democrats scream it is “racist” and demand the courts stop it.
