7 Things: New damning charges against Trump and friends; Biden mad about policy he voted for; and more …

7. Two prominent black Republicans, U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), have taken on the angle advanced by the media and their Democrats that Florida’s standards somehow say black people benefited from slavery. The standard does not say that and, much to the chagrin of these people, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis never said it that slavery benefited black people, either.

6. State Sen. Chris Elliott (R-Baldwin County) says he is not trying to defund the Alabama Department of Archives and History for being woke but he is working to rein them in, saying, “I am trying to jerk the leash a little bit and say ‘guys, you’re talking to a bunch of appropriators who are telling you to quit it, knock it off or there’s going to be repercussions.'”

5. A prison guard and 2 inmates have been charged in the death of another inmate in a medical unit where the two inmates gained access.

4. University of Tennessee former head coach and holder of a six-year “show cause order” from the NCAA Jeremy Pruitt is now a physical education teacher and JV basketball coach in Rainsville at Plainview High School.

3. State Sen. Tim Melson (R-Florence) is in a South Korean hospital recovering from a heart attack he suffered on a legislative trip to the country. State Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur) reportedly gave Melson CPR until medics arrived.

2. President Joe Biden continues pretending that the need for the military to do abortions supercedes the fact that it damages its mission. However, he blames Alabama U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) for it.

1. While asking that the Department of Justice not indict former President Donald Trump again because it will rip the nation apart, his attorneys now have charges for attempting to get video at Mar-a-Lago erased to keep them out of the hands of the DOJ to deal with. Former Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney Jay Town said, “Count 41 (deleting tapes) is the definition of both obstruction of justice and consciousness of guilt!”
