6. The Alabama Department of Public Health and the State Committee of Public Health appear to be attempting to hold off Alabama legislators’ attempt to rein in the State Health Officer.

The lawyer for the man tased while handcuffed and placed over the hood of a police car says that what happened to his client is “just a normal day in Reform, Alabama.” Clearly, this is untrue, if it were true this would not be news and this officer would not be facing the possibility of being severely disciplined and charged here.

The three police officers who were fired and the one suspended over disciplinary issues in Decatur involving the shooting death of Stephen Perkins, which the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is still investigating are appealing their firings. There is still no word as to what the policy violations are.

3. Hamas’ terror goes international after four are arrested in Europe while allegedly plotting terror attacks against Jews. This marks a major escalation in the terror group’s tactic and makes it more of a worldwide threat. But… #CeasefireNow, right?

2. U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is touting her belief that the latest National Defense Authorization Act is a great bill for service members and for Alabama’s military installations in Alabama.

1. Almost all of the Alabama Republican delegation voted for the National Defense Authorization Act and the lone NO vote, U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), is trading shots with his primary opponent Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) over the bill. The primary for the newly drawn First Congressional District will be one to watch and this fight will replay itself over and over.
