7 Things: Gambling bill passes Alabama House; Trump has a good day in court in Georgia but a bad one in New York; and more …

7. Once again, as the media and their Democrats claim that former President Donald Trump and anyone who agrees with him on anything are Russian assets, Russia’s real desires are for a weak American president with Russian President Vladimir Putin saying he would prefer Joe Biden. The same thing happened in 2016 with proof now uncovered that the CIA “cooked the intelligence” to make it appear that Trump was the Russian choice as part of a broader Deep State plot.

6. While most of Washington, D.C., seems hell-bent on drawing out the war between Ukraine and Russia, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is trying to nudge negotiations to end the war it before it spirals out of control. Speaking out about how the endless flow of money to Ukraine is a bad idea, Tuberville said, “We need to get this over with for the American people, and for the Ukrainians and the Russians. This needs to be over, but nobody wants to talk about it.”

5. The Alabama State Senate is advancing a bill that would have originally removed local and state sales tax from products used by women and babies, but an amendment removed the local tax exemption. These tax-exempt categories include baby bottles, baby formula, baby wipes, milk pumping and storing products, diapers, maternity clothing, and menstrual hygiene products, but there are no man-related related tax exemptions coming anytime soon.

4. According to Puck News, members of the White House press corps are doing some “soul-searching” after the evidence of President Joe Biden’s mental decline and failures are becoming apparent. The reality is even worse, they are STILL trying to cover for him after submitting questions in advance and some reporters admitting they spent more time talking about Biden’s cognitive issues privately than reporting on them to stay in the White House’s good graces which is in stark contrast to the way they handled the Trump administration.

3. Even MSNBC’s legal analysts think Fanni Willis is in legal trouble as the prosecutor in former President Donald Trump’s Georgia election fraud trial spent Thursday attempting to defend her relationship with her employee while keeping herself from being disqualified from the case. It did not go well as she started attacking the attorney asking her questions, declaring that she was not on trial, and couldn’t explain why/how she was reimbursing her boyfriend for trips they took after she was caught lying about her relationship with Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade.

2. Try as he might, former President Donald Trump could not delay his trial for falsified business records in a scheme to pay hush money to Stormy Daniels to conceal an affair in the lead-up to the 2016 election, the trial will start jury selection in March. This will be the first-ever criminal trial of a former president and will almost certainly end in a conviction for Donald Trump.

1. Two gambling bills have now passed the Alabama State House, one is a constitutional amendment on the “statewide education lottery, traditional raffles and bingo, casino-style gaming, and sports wagering” while the other lays out how gambling would work (with an amnesty for lawbreakers) and how the money would be spent. The passage of this bill came quickly but passage in the Alabama State Senate is less than guaranteed.
