7. Halloween controversies were everyone and there was something for everyone to be mad about: DHS agents in L.A. wearing horror masks during raids prompting a flippant “Happy Halloween” from the agency; biracial MAGA “comedian” Brittany Venti’s blackface post sparked outrage; a left-wing influencer had one of the many Charlie Kirk assassination costumes; and teachers in Arizona were accused of wearing shirts mocking Kirk’s death.
6. Auburn fired head coach Hugh Freeze, giving him a $15.4 million buyout, after a 10-3 home loss to Kentucky dropped Auburn to 4-5, and ended with a 15-19 overall record, including 6-16 in the SEC.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall joined 24 states in filing an amicus brief supporting President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, arguing the 14th Amendment’s intent was for freed slaves’ descendants, not mass immigration and replacement.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem denied any U.S. citizens have been arrested in the crackdown during a news conference; she ignored Americans being arrested because they interfered with law enforcement and, in Alabama, attorney James L.
