7 Things: Everyone views Trump’s issues as political; gambling bills coming; and more …

7. U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) views the fight over Space Command HQ as a battle that is still ongoing. The news over Space Command’s Gen. James Dickinson’s purchase of a home in Colorado while claiming he wanted the command in Huntsville is proof of a corrupted process.

6. An “unauthorized” Birmingham event allegedly scheduled as the “Bham City Walk Takeover” that will include police and fights is set for Aug. 19 and police are warning parents to keep their kids away from the event.

5. The Pentagon and the White House clearly see the situation where U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is keeping his hold on promotions and nominations for the Department of Defense over their illegal abortion policy as a winner for them politically because they are telling the media they will not negotiate, not that there is much to negotiate.

4. Much to the chagrin of the media elite in the state who have argued Alabama gets too much from D.C. and not enough, depending on who they are attacking, the two rookie U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) have secured the 7th most earmarks of any state in the union.

3. State Rep. Andy Whitt (R-Harvest) has been a pretty busy guy, he has been traveling the state seeking out legal and illegal gambling and has concluded that Alabama is the Wild West when it comes to gambling and he has a plan to regulate and tax it.

2. A Fox News poll tells us two things we probably all know, a majority of Americans think that former President Donald Trump did “something illegal” and that the investigations are politically motivated. Both things can and are true, and it is helping the former president run away with the primary, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis losing ground.

1. As if you needed any more evidence that the absurd persecution of former President Donald Trump is totally political, the attempt to set the date for the court cases to start to the day before Super Tuesday makes it even clearer. But the play is to help him get through the GOP process and lose in the general.
