7. An Alabama teen tragically died after a police chase ended with a crash into a burned church where her boyfriend had died just days earlier. The Riverside Baptist Church was hit as Jennefer L. Arellano-Maldonado was attempting to elude the police and then the church caught on fire.

Six lawyers in Alabama, accused of “judge shopping” in a case concerning “gender-affirming” care as they attempted to stop medical practitioners in the state from castrating and mutilating minors, have complied with a court order under protest. They voiced their objections to the ruling but ultimately fulfilled their legal duties as required by the court and now a judge is weighing the sanctions he may impose, including disbarment.
5. On the anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Alabama leaders celebrated what they see as the countless lives saved due to the ruling. U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) declaring on Twitter, “Two years ago today, the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision marked a crucial turning point in the fight to protect the lives of the most vulnerable of us. I am proud to be pro-life and to advocate for the protection of the unborn” and Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) added, “Two years ago, a majority of SCOTUS rightly interpreted the Constitution and allowed states to protect life.”

In this case, the tolerance is needed over the fact that these people are Jewish, not because of their behavior.

On the day of an unrelated officer-involved shooting, a Birmingham police officer issued a stark warning to criminals in the city, where crime is out of control, emphasizing that in Alabama, where many residents are armed, engaging in criminal activities is particularly hazardous. Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department reminded would be criminals, their targets may be armed, “This comes from a place of love…young men, we live in Alabama where everybody has a gun. Before you think you can get the drop on somebody, just remember that other person you think may be a victim, it doesn’t always turn out that way.”
