7 Things: Biden’s DOJ seems to be intimidating a witness; absurd ‘Ebony Alert’ proposed; and more …

7. Alabama Democrats may need to focus less on congressional maps and more on their party deteriorating in public after an embarrassing report of their latest party meeting emerged last week.

6. State Sen. Tim Melson (R-Florence) is feeling a little better in a South Korea hospital. His brother, Dr. Gilbert Melson, says he is in “steady but guarded” condition.

5. State Rep. Ernie Yarborough (R-Trinity) says he is “super excited” about Gov. Kay Ivey’s school choice talk: “So it’s high time that we put the parents’ hands on the educational steering wheel so that we can get the results, the quality, and the morals and the values that we need.”

4. Former President Donald Trump’s legal fees mount, so the billionaire is starting a legal defense fund you can donate to. He also says he did nothing wrong because no tapes were deleted at Mar-a-Lago.

3. On Friday afternoon, Carlee Russell was charged with two misdemeanors, which could land her in lockup but, based on her mugshot, she seems pretty happy about it.

2. State Rep. Juandalynn Givan (D-Jefferson County) would like the state to develop an “Ebony Alert” for missing Black people. To be clear, this is as dumb as it sounds and would be an “Amber Alert” that is specifically for missing Black people.

1. Very odd that the day before Hunter Biden’s business partner Devon Archer was to testify before Congress, the DOJ sends a letter asking for a date for him to report to jail on previous issues which many view as an intimidation technique.
