7 Things: An out-of-touch old man is a criminal and president of the United States; gambling full-court press is on; and more …

7. Former President Donald Trump’s removal from the ballot in Colorado will be blown up by the Supreme Court as even the more liberal members of the court are clearly against the Colorado Secretary of State’s gambit. Even though Trump was not charged with insurrection, most of the judges didn’t want to come near that question except Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. who seemed to think it was an insurrection still appears to be leaning Trump’s way.

6. In his interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Russian President Vladimir Putin says he wants to negotiate peace in Ukraine and he wants the United States involved in the negotiation saying Russia has “never refused negotiations.” Putin adds that the war could be over in weeks, “If you really want to stop fighting, you need to stop supplying weapons.”

5. The state of Alabama is one step closer to ending ballot harvesting in Alabama as the State Government Affairs Committee advanced legislation that would keep people from being paid to gather other’s people ballots. The ACLU claims that this puts democracy on the line but it actually “prohibits any individual from ordering, requesting, collecting, pre-filling, obtaining, or delivering an absentee ballot as well as receiving or offering payment in the process of doing so.”

4. The Alabama Board of Education has made a decision that could clear the way for schools to start enforcing cell phone bans that need to be implemented ASAP. Schools Superintendent Eric Mackey wants more schools to follow Montgomery County’s decision to ban the phones: “Discipline is down. Discipline issues are down significantly in Montgomery County by about a third. I’m sure that’s to a lot of issues, things that they’re doing, Dr. Brown’s put in place, but a lot of it is, they attribute to, students not having their cell phones during the day.”

3. The push for gambling in Alabama continues with the official bill being dropped with casinos, lottery, and sports betting paired with more messaging polls telling everyone how much Alabamians want to gamble with a scheme that protects prior bad actors. These polls are legit, people do want gambling but the way it is being done will probably keep gambling illegal in Alabama for the time being.

2. Our country is being run by a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” who took, hid, and distributed classified documents (some related to Ukraine and China) but won’t be charged because he’s pathetic. But fear not, “Biden will not be charged” is the only headline Democrats are interested in even though it relies on the fact that Biden is limited “in a case where the government must prove that Mr. Biden knew he had possession of the classified Afghanistan documents after the vice presidency and chose to keep those documents, knowing he was violating the law, we expect that at trial, his attorneys would emphasize these limitations in his recall.”

1. In a rushed press conference, that was reportedly called for President Joe Biden to show the world that he was a likable but not feeble old man, he failed spectacularly with U.S. Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) calling for his cabinet to remove him. Biden proceeded to talk in a rushed pattern, slam the investigation, criticize former President Donald Trump, make excuses for his own behavior, yell at the press, claim Israel’s offensive is “over the top” in Gaza, claim he got the president of Mexico to open its border with Gaza, and utterly embarrass himself, his staff, America, Abraham Lincoln, and Jesus Christ, himself.
