On Tuesday afternoon, Republican congressional hopeful Bradley Byrne received another endorsement from one of his former competitors, State Rep. Chad Fincher, R-Semmes.

Byrne now has endorsements of the third and fourth-place runners up in last month’s Republican primary for the first congressional district seat vacated by U.S. Rep. Jo Bonner earlier this year.

“I trust that Bradley will go to Congress to stand up for our South Alabama values, and I trust that he will always be honest with the citizens of our district,” Fincher said in a statement put out by the Byrne campaign. “We need to elect conservatives who are willing to work with other conservatives to win – not attack fellow conservatives for personal gain.”

Byrne applauded Fincher for his campaign in his reaction to Fincher’s endorsement.

“Chad Fincher ran an excellent campaign talking about the issues important to the First Congressional District,” said Byrne. “Chad is a conservative leader in the State House and a strong voice for South Alabama. Rebecca and I are proud to consider him and his wife Caresse friends, and look forward to continuing to work together to improve our region.”

Byrne faces Orange Beach businessman Dean Young on November 5 in the a Republican primary run-off. The winner will go on to face Democratic Party nominee Burton LeFlore on December 17.
