ARAB, Ala. — Sheriff’s deputies in Marshall County, Alabama had a little extra help in stopping a burglary suspect this week. From a bull.
Seriously.
26-year-old Brad Lynn Hemby was caught in the midst of a burglary when he and his female companion were chased off the property by the homeowner.
Fleeing from deputies through a cow pasture, the suspect ultimately wrecked his truck and began attempting to escape on foot.
Deputies say the chase caught the attention of a bull in the pasture, which joined the pursuit.
The bovid’s bravado ended up leading Hemby to be entangled in a barbed wire fence where he was immediately placed under arrest.
Hemby was charged with burglary, criminal mischief and attempting to elude a police officer, but his female companion was reportedly able to escape into the woods nearby.
The homeowner’s stolen property was returned.
