Huntsville native and Alabama super-fan Tommy Ray has one of the most impressive streaks we’ve ever heard of.
Since 1972, Ray has attended every single Crimson Tide football game, home and road, and has an unbelievable streak of 654 consecutive games attended as of yesterday’s matchup against Tennessee.
According to Rick Karle of WVTM 13, Tommy attended a total of 26 Alabama games before his 654 game streak began in 1972, placing his total amount of games attended at 680.
That figure is notable because Alabama has played exactly 1,360 games, meaning that as of yesterday Tommy Ray has attended HALF of the games Alabama has played in its 131 year history playing football.
“And one more thing,” Karle wrote.
“Tommy Ray has never been a season ticket holder- his love of the Crimson Tide has motivated him to find single game tickets every week of football season for 51 years. Please congratulate Tommy for this incredible accomplishment.”
Perhaps the most impressive part of the whole story is the fact that Ray has never even been a season ticket holder. He has found a ticket for every single game every week for 51 years straight.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a man that simply just loves the Tide.
