Nick Saban and James Spann are two of the most iconic Alabamians. Apparently some have bigger ideas for the football coach and meteorologist who have been known to be big admirers of each other’s work.
Someone gave Spann a very special gift while he was speaking to pre-K students with a hilarious and not so subtle suggestion that the pair needs to run for office together.
“Spann Saban ’24” at the very least has a nice ring to it.
The always modest Spann qualified the fact that in the bizarre hypothetical world where he and Saban ran for office, the names would have to be reversed to “Saban Spann.”

“I received this hat as a gift today while I was visiting the pre-K students in the ELI program at the University of Alabama Gadsden Center. If we were on any ticket, the names would certainly need to be flipped…” Spann wrote.
The possibility of either of the two ever running for office is probably slim to none, but it’s certainly a fun hypothetical.
