U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville weighed in on the controversy surrounding Cracker Barrel’s recent decision to change its decades-old logo and the interior of its restaurants across the country.

The updates, which began earlier this month, have been met with overwhelming public criticism, causing the franchise to lose nearly $100 million in market value on Thursday alone.

During this morning’s episode of Longshore and McKnight, Tuberville (R-Auburn) unloaded on the restaurant’s drastic change in direction.

“We won’t eat there again, and I’ve eaten at every Cracker Barrel probably in the state of Alabama, because when I travel, I go to Waffle House in the morning, or Cracker Barrel for lunch or dinner when I’m campaigning,” he said. “It just makes you sick to your stomach that people try to change history.”

Tuberville also slammed Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Felss Masino, blaming her leadership for the  disaster and comparing it to a familiar brand betrayal.

“This young lady, that’s the CEO, she won’t be CEO long. Their stock has gone down 42% since she’s taken over. It is an icon of the South. It is based in Lebanon, Tennessee,” Tuberville said.

“For somebody who looks like an Ivy League student, she doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong, and she is going to make these decisions. It is just mindboggling to me. Bud Light and the NFL cheerleaders now. It just makes you sick of what these people try to do.”

Cracker Barrel issued a statement to Fox News, rebuffing the complaints.

“Feedback from both guests and team members has been overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic about the refreshed dining and shopping experience,” the restaurant said.” All of the elements of our remodels were informed by direct input from our guests and team members alike. These changes are for them.”
