U.S. Rep. Dale Strong recently attended the White House picnic and had a chance to speak directly to President Donald Trump about Space Command’s expected relocation to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

In a clip posted to social media, Trump can be seen telling Strong (R-Huntsville) that the move is imminent and that he ‘is moving it to Alabama.’

Strong thanked Trump for his ‘continued leadership’ on Space Command and assured the President that his home district and the whole of Alabama are ‘ready and able’ to make Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville the new home of Space Command.

The lawmaker, whose congressional district includes Redstone Arsenal and the Marshal Space Flight Center, has previously spoken at length about the process and need to relocate the command to the Rocket City.

“Everyone knows that U.S. Space Command Headquarters should be in Huntsville, Alabama, because that is best for our national security,” Strong said in April.

“I’ve met with President Trump and Vice President Vance, and can assure you the topic of Space Command came up. The 21-category selection process speaks for itself, and I look forward to the new Air Force Secretary recommending Huntsville to be the permanent home for Space Command Headquarters.
