WATCH: Jalen Hurts finds DeVonta Smith to lock up Eagles Super Bowl title

The Philadelphia Eagles won their second Super Bowl title in franchise history on Sunday evening, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 40-22 to end their quest for an unprecedented three-peat.

Philadelphia has made a habit of drafting former Alabama Crimson Tide stars – and those stars paid off in a big way in New Orleans on Sunday evening.

It was a dominating win for the Eagles, but with Patrick Mahomes on the other sideline, Philadelphia fans never felt comfortable until it was a long bomb connection between Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith to put the game on ice and put the Eagles up by over 30 points late in the third quarter:

For all the great Crimson Tide wide receivers in the NFL, Smith’s catch made his the first Alabama player to catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

Hurts on the other hand became the first Alabama player to be named the Super Bowl MVP since Joe Namath over 50 years ago.

Smith finished the game with four catches for 69 yards and the touchdown while Hurts completed 17 of his 22 passes for 221 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, also finishing as the team’s leading rusher with 72 yards and another score on the ground.

Hurts and Smith though they will deservingly get the most attention aren’t the only former Crimson Tide stars receiving Super Bowl rings for the Eagles. Landon Dickerson, Eli Ricks, Cameron Latu, Tyler Steen and Byron Young were all on the roster as well and get added to the long list of Super Bowl champions to have played their college ball at The Capstone.
