When you go to a Dude Perfect show, you expect a high-energy variety of performances from five friends who became YouTube sensations.

But during their Hero World Tour stop at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center this weekend, fans got to witness an authentic reunion of a military family.

True to their mission of giving back, spreading joy, and glorifying Jesus Christ, the group used the stage that night to honor and unite a deserving family.

In the leadup to the surprise, the crew invited Katie, identified only by her first name, to be recognized for her 22 years of service as a Black Hawk pilot in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Her husband, Jayson, also a Black Hawk pilot with 20 years in the Army, was thought to be deployed in Honduras and unable to attend the show.

As Katie stood before the crowd with her young son, the audience watched a heartfelt video message from Jayson on the big screen — but then became shocked and emotional as Jason himself walked onto the stage.

The crowd erupted as Jayson and Katie’s son ran across the stage and threw his arms around his father as the arena loudly cheered ‘USA!’ WATCH:
