Auburn’s athletic teams officially donned Nike uniforms Tuesday, ushering in a new era that replaces Under Armour as the Tigers’ outfitter.

The agreement between Auburn University and Nike went into effect July 1, and the Tigers took the field for the first time sporting the iconic swoosh.

To mark the launch, Auburn released an emotional video on social media under the tagline “Take Flight.”

Even though the partnership officially begins on Tuesday, Tigers fans will not be able to purchase the apparel until the official ribbon cutting ceremony at the team store on July 25.

“We are thrilled to kick off the Nike era of Auburn football,” Hugh Freeze said in a release. “I’ve seen firsthand Nike’s commitment to excellence and innovation. Our student-athletes look forward to competing in Nike cleats and uniforms in front of the greatest fans in college football this season at Jordan-Hare Stadium.”

In addition to Freeze, men’s basketball head coach Bruce Pearl weighed in as well.

“Nike basketball is the most recognizable brand in the world,” Pearl said. “All of our student-athletes and recruits recognize that and want to be a part of that.”
