Warrior-based Louis Allis granted preliminary injunction over trademark infringement

Specialty motor manufacturer Louis Allis has obtained a preliminary injunction barring Ideal Electric Power Company from using or displaying the Warrior-based company’s federally registered trademarks for its brand name and stylized LA logo.

The Delaware court’s order also prohibits Ideal from claiming to own or in any way be associated with Louis Allis.

According to the injunction, Ideal cannot offer or sell any goods or services which have the Louis Allis trademarks, and Ideal also cannot in any way create the impression that their products or services are connected to the manufacturing company.

The order comes after Louis Allis was made aware that Ideal was claiming to own certain trademarks and business lines around the end of June. Ideal, according to Louis Allis, set up display booths at multiple industry events, including the 2023 Electrical Apparatus Service Association Annual Convention.

The preliminary injunction order will continue until the court has ruled following a trial  which is anticipated to be scheduled for 2025.
